This is a job that was undertaken in Hungerford. Scour Protection were sub-contracted by Network Rail to supply plant, operation systems and planning to provide a variety of Scour Protection. Enviro mats are approved by the EA for installation in areas where particular attention has to be paid to the cleanliness of the rivers. The mats are made to measure for the area to be protected, laid out then filled with concrete, without any contaminates leaching into the water. In this area a large Flume pipe was temporarily installed with two dams to ease the flow of clean water down river, whilst simultaneously damming muddy water in the bridge area.
This is a job undertaken in Bishops Tawton, North Devon for Network Rail. The river bed and abutments of the bridge were being scoured out by periodic flooding. Scour Protection Ltd provided the necessary plant and operators to excavate to necessary levels and install Eviro Mats.
